Kids who explore their creativity do not look any different from the kids who don't, but they feel drastically different. They are happier, more confident souls who have learnt to trust themselves very early on.

Why Embellishment?

Embellishment is the process of adding decorative features to make something attractive or interesting. While the literal definition states it point blank, to the creative mind it opens a world of endless possibilities.

When it comes to embellishment, there are no rules. You do not have to be an artist, anybody can do it. Not only is it super fun, it's relaxing, enjoyable and exceptionally gratifying.

Why Embroidery?

Embroidery is the art of creating designs and textures on fabric, using colorful threads, woven into a variety of stitches. It is one of the oldest art forms that is still around. Embroidery in essence is extremely calming, within minutes of working on a project your mind goes quiet and the repetitive action grounds you in the present moment. The comforting tactile nature of the materials helps contribute to the calm that soothes and reinvigorates us.

Happiness is Handmade!

  • Young crafters, fearless and bold, who like to stand out, like to explore, like things unique, make their own rules, try new things and set new trends.

  • Young creative souls who are not afraid of putting themselves out there, who try valiantly, who do not care about failure and judgement, who seek no validation from outside but draw it from within.

  • Old school creative souls who dismiss trends, like to take it slow but thorough, who like things classic, take their own sweet time to put things together.

If we could pack love in a box, it would look like this.

Why Aubergine?

Crafting makes us feel nostalgic. Our childhood was synonymous with creating. For us, crafting was a sacred ritual. We'd look forward to getting together with our cousins and elders, for our evening cup of chai and a variety of mediums of craft. The joy, the chatter, the smirks, the laughter fill our souls with love till date.

With changing times the paint brushes, the needles, the colors, the tools of the trade have been irrevocably replaced by smartphones and tablets. In this date and age, where kids are constantly bombarded with cheap dopamine, crafting has become all the more indispensable.

At Aubergine, it is our honest attempt to bring back today a tiny fraction of those times, acquaint our kids with the breathing, teeming, pulse of life which by the way is eluding our children with each passing day being submerged in the inanity of their phones.
